Preserving the Story

Every photo tells a story: the family vacation at the beach, a baby’s first smile and first steps, celebrating grandma’s birthday; the list is endless. If you are like me, you have hundreds, if not, thousands of photos. To preserve the stories behind my photos, I once attempted scrapbooking; I spent more time collecting the supplies and organizing them than I ever did creating the scrapbook. It was always a project I planned to do “when I had time.” Of course, the box of supplies is currently on top of my closet collecting dust.

So with no patience for traditional methods I’ve struggled with what to do with my photos and how to share and preserve the stories behind them. Recently, I’ve found an easy, online solution that works through any internet browser. Heritage Makers provides a way to preserve and celebrate your stories through the digital creation of custom storybooks, scrapbooks, cards, calendars, and other projects.

As a new consultant for Heritage Makers I’ve only started to explore the possibilities available! Above is a slide show that demonstrates a story I’ve recently completed: The Tanner family 2008-2009 calendar.

What stories have you wanted to tell with your photos? I’d love to help you share them!
